Meet Stella Flannery, Stella purchased Critter Sitter Connection in January of 2008. Stella is dedicated to helping create a peaceful and sustainable community for all relations, and is empowered to continue the legacy of providing the best in home pet care services with the highest level of respect for the responsibility of humans as caregivers for the plants and animals who also care for us. Stella says, "My love of plants and animals has guided my journey this far. From researching the behaviors of wolves in northern Wisconsin while studying Biology and Chemestry at Northland College, to studying the science of herbal medicine in the rainforests of Washington State while attending Bastyr University in Seattle, all the way back to my original roots volunteering at the Lakeside Nature Center in Swope Park, my love of life and desire to study and grow has led me into many great adventures."
When possible, please make your online reservation two weeks in advance.
Featured in the Kansas City Star in 2009, Shirley says, "I have had a passion for animals all of my life. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Berne, Minnesota, I was always around a lot of animals. For 12 years I have devoted many hours to volunteer work with my pet therapy dogs, Sandy and Shadow, through Pets for Life and Platte County Pet Power. This has been a wonderful way to give back to the community. Witnessing the way the animals touch people's lives on these visits is awesome and very rewarding. This past year I lost Sandy and Shadow due to health issues. Sandy and Shadow were angels, in a sense, and will be remembered by the many lives they touched. I am proud of our golden pup, Wally, who graduated and will continue with pet therapy work where Sandy and Shadow left off. For the past six years I have enjoyed working for Critter Sitters providing the best possible care for my clients' pets in the comfort of their own homes. I think of these pets as an extension of my own family."
We are very proud to have Shirley as a representative of Critter Sitter Connection!

I have a passion for working with animals of all shapes and sizes. I have experience with a whole range of animals from hamsters to horses as well as farm animals. I worked in Veterinary Clinics for awhile and I am now a Genealogy Reference Assistant. I have one dog,(she is actually more like my child) which is in my picture, named Sierra. We participate in Dog Scouts of America and we hope to become certified Therapy partners. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR.
I love all animals!!
I have loved to care for and work with animals from childhood. As a child, I was in 4-H and chose dog training and sheep as my projects. In high school, I was involved in FFA with my horse, Peanut, as a project. I also bought and trained a year and a half old Appaloosa horse. During the summers, I worked with a boarding stable. I helped to train and exercise the owner's as well as the clients' horses. I now have a dog, whom I worked with on obedience for over two years as a puppy, two cats, and a freshwater fish tank.

Amanda - Professional Pet Sitter in Overland Park
I have loved all types of animals ever since I was a toddler. I have rescued numerous pets and found old homes for lost ones or new homes for homeless pets. I have pet sit for all types of animals in the past 10 years from pigs to snakes to chinchillas. I dreamed of being a vet but I can't stand seeing anything in pain after my father's long battle with cancer. I adore meeting new animals and getting to know them over the years. I especially enjoy walking dogs as I love to be outside as well. I have known many pets for my entire career with Critter Sitters and have decade long references. I would love to meet any new animals in the Overland Park area. I am available for mid day walks as well. I am married with two girls, one dog named Lucy, two rescued guinea pigs and a tankful of fish.
