Meet Stella Flannery, pictured here with her daughter, and two dogs, Getsem and Dusty. Stella purchased Critter Sitters Connection in January of 2008. Donna Montemore has passed the torch on to Stella, and will be advising her as she continues to build upon the foundation of integrity that began with the original owner, Michele Thill, in 1986. Stella is dedicated to helping create a peaceful and sustainable community for all relations, and is empowered to continue the legacy of providing the best in home pet care services with the highest level of respect for the responsibility of humans as caregivers for the plants and animals who also care for us. Stella says, "My love of plants and animals has guided my journey this far. From researching the behaviors of wolves in northern Wisconsin while studying Biology and Chemestry at Northland College, to studying the science of herbal medicine in the rainforests of Washington State while attending Bastyr University in Seattle, all the way back to my original roots volunteering at the Lakeside Nature Center in Swope Park, my love of life and desire to study and grow has led me into many great adventures. I know this one will also be a success."
After working as the office manager from 1998 to 2000 Donna decided to seize the opportunity to take over this well-established company in April 2000. With the day-to-day focus being on providing the best in in-home pet care, Donna also donates some of her time and proceeds to area animal shelters to help find homes for the abandoned and homeless pets in our area.
Donna believes that if everyone were to spay and neuter their pets, the stray population could be greatly reduced. She also believes that when a pet is adopted, it should be for the rest of their lives. "It is very hard on a pet to be shuffled from one household to another. They need to feel wanted and loved. They are like babies, they depend on us for food, water, shelter and guidance. They should never be given up because of a behavioral problem. Instead, the family should seek out the advice of professionals to correct the problem."

When it comes to the pet care industry, you won't find a more dedicated pet sitter than Sue Morningstar. Sue has many established clients, and provides wonderfull service throughout the year in North Kansas City. From May 2001, through May 2008, Sue was the voice on the other end of the phone when clients called to schedule a reservation. Sue has worked in the pet industry since she was 17 years old. We are pleased to benefit from her extensive knowledge of all types of pet care. Through the years, Sue has worked for veterinarians, groomers and boarding facilities before finding her way to Critter Sitter Connection.
Sue is a wife and mother of 3 children. She has owned dozens of rescued animals throughout her life, as most people in the pet industry do! She is an avid animal lover!
I have had a passion for animals all of my life. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Berne, Minnesota, I was always around a lot of animals. For 12 years I have devoted many hours to volunteer work with my pet therapy dogs, Sandy and Shadow, through Pets for Life and Platte County Pet Power. This has been a wonderful way to give back to the community. Witnessing the way the animals touch people's lives on these visits is awesome and very rewarding. This past year I lost Sandy and Shadow due to health issues. Sandy and Shadow were angels, in a sense, and will be remembered by the many lives they touched. I have hopes of training our golden pup, Wally, to continue with pet therapy work where Sandy and Shadow left off. For the past five years I have enjoyed working for Critter Sitters providing the best possible care for my clients' pets in the comfort of their own homes. I think of these pets as an extension of my own family.
My service prices are:
Get Acquainted visit $15.00
